A week or so ago a letter from a brutally honest PTA made the rounds on the Internet – finally giving busy parents the out they’ve been looking for. In case you haven’t seen it, the letter was basically giving parents the option to make a donation to the PTA that would exempt them from having to further participate throughout the year (ie: “I do not want to bake, so here’s the money I would have spent on cupcakes.”)
Here at Pay4SchoolStuff.com we’re all about parents volunteering and participating, but we get it. You’re busy. You’ve got kids to raise, a family to support, chores around the house, and probably a hobby or two to keep up with. At the end of the day, asking parents to donate time and hit up their co-workers for donations (the letter uses a gift wrapping sale) can be tough – and awkward. So let us be the first (okay – probably the millionth) to say that we are completely on board with this letter! This PTA knows it asks a lot through the year, is poking a bit of fun at itself and, let’s be honest, might actually raise more money than usual.
And now comes the rub – if all these parents are suddenly throwing money at the PTA (woo!) – how is that going to work? Who’s handing it? Who’s collecting it? Who’s providing receipts for charitable donations?
Don’t worry about it. We’re on it!
With Pay4SchoolStuff.com your organization can quickly and easily set up options for parents to donate funds quickly, conveniently, and – most importantly – securely. You won’t need to worry about whether or not your check has gotten into the right hands after sending it off with your six year old, because your donations can be made online, from the comfort of your own home.
Of course, you can also use Pay4SchoolStuff.com to provide parents with the opportunity to sign up to volunteer at some of the events for which others are getting a guilt-free pass.
